It is no secret that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has been the main topic of conversation throughout the past week. Because People for Quality Care focuses on ensuring that quality home medical equipment and services remain available and accessible to those who rely on these services, we truly care about the well-being of these individuals that rely on medical equipment and oxygen supplies on a daily basis. We want to make sure you are aware the safety measures that are recommended by key health organizations such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and World Health Organization (WHO). It is highly recommended that those who are sick, elderly, or have underlying health conditions stay home and away from others.
The following are additional recommendations from health organizations:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick
- Stay home when you are sick
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. If a tissue isn’t available, cough or sneeze into your elbow.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
- If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
- Practice social distancing
